Delete Your Shadowee Account
You can delete your Shadowee account and all of its data at any time, yourself, in the app or on the website. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
How to delete your account
- Open the Shadowee app, or go to shadowee.org/profile.html, and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open your Profile — the You tab at the bottom of the app.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type
deletein the box to confirm, then tap Delete.
Can't sign in?
Email [email protected] from the email address of your account and ask us to delete it. For your security we may ask you to confirm the request. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following are permanently and immediately deleted from our database. This cannot be undone.
- Your account: email address, password, first and last name, and date of birth
- Your preferences: practice level and translation language
- Your learning data: lesson progress, learning Path progress, practice time, XP, level, streaks, and daily goal
- Your starred and recently played lessons, and any lesson packages
- Your sign-in history and all active sessions on every device
- Any pending password-reset code
Shadowee's data is also cleared from the device you delete your account from. Your other devices are signed out automatically within 15 minutes; any display settings saved on them are removed when you clear the app's data, clear your browser data, or uninstall the app.
What is kept
Nothing that identifies you. We keep only aggregated statistics (for example, the total number of lessons completed across all users) that cannot be linked back to you. Our hosting providers' routine operational logs and backups expire on their standard schedules.
Voice recordings are never stored: recordings made during speaking practice stay on your device and are discarded after playback, so there is nothing to delete.
